Reporting the marriage on 13 Aug in the Bedford Methodist Church of Lt. Lovelace D. Bodine, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Lovelace D. Bodine of Bloomfield AND the daughter [who is actually not named] of Rev. and Mrs. L. A. Garriott of Bedford. The Rev. W. B. Garriott of Flemingsburg, the bride's uncle, performed the ceremony.

Lovelace Dugan Bodine Jr., born 17 Feb 1924; died 27 March 1958 in Bridgeport, Wise County when a plane he was co-piloting collided with another military aircraft.

Abstracted: Capt. Bodine was the co-pilot of a C-124 Globemaster from Hill Air Force Base in Salt Lake City, Utah when it collided in mid-air with a C-119 cargo plane from Carswell Air Force Base at Fort Worth, Texas. All 18 crew and passengers aboard the two planes died.
