In April 1930, Bernie Bodine, age 23 and single, lived with her mother in Oklahoma City and worked for an audit bureau. The 1954 Oklahoma City Directory lists Hal M. and Bernie B. Horton as residents. Hal is employed as an engineer with OG&E.

Bernie Bodine, age 89, born 9-12-1905 in Okla. City, passed away 1-11-1995 in Okla. City. She was a member of the 1889 Bodine pioneer family. Mrs. Horton was a Mount St. Mary's Academy graduate; a charter member, Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary and Blue Bell Garden Club. She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help for the past 65 years. Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her husband, Hal M. Horton on Nov. 16, 1979. Survivors include 7 nieces and 2 nephews, Frank W. and Marjorie Manley, Bangkok, Thailand, Patty and John Sellars, Dick and Dorothy Manley, Mary Ellen and Jimmie Scoles, Kathi Hamilton, all of the greater Okla. City area, Eloise Manley, Boulder, Co., Judy Chapman and Elizabeth and James Gerson, all of Houston, Tx. and Suzann Rae Horton of Austin, Tx.; sister-in-law, Elaine Horton, Houston, Tx.; some 50 plus loving grand nieces and nephews, many cousins and loving friends. Prayer Vigil 8:00 p.m. Friday and Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Saturday, both at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3214 N. Lake Ave. Interment, Rose Hill Burial Park.
