Maude E. Bodine, 87, retired Spokane teacher, died yesterday at Rockwood Manor, the retirement home where she had resided in recent years. Born in Eau Claire, Wis., she had lived in Spokane since 1906. She was graduated from Cheney Normal School (now Eastern Washington State College) about 1910, then began a teaching career here which covered nearly 40 years in four schools, Sheridan, Irving, Wilson and Stevens. Miss Bodine was a long-time member of Electa Eastern Star Chapter and member of First Presbyterian Church and Spokane, Washington State and National Retired Teacher's Associations. Surviving are a brother, William Bodine, Yakima, and a niece, Barbara Earsley, Spokane. Private funeral services are planned at 3 Monday at Ball & Dodd's with the Rev. Russell Alsgaard of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Cremation will follow.
