In 1900-1910, Millard and Anna McFarland lived in Sonora Township, Hancock County where Millard worked as a blacksmith. In 1900, Millard reported that in 13 years of marriage, Anna had borne 3 children of whom 2 were then living.

Millard Mc Farland was born in the state of Ohio, May 15, 1853 and died at his home between Toston and Three Forks, the morning of December 17, 1913, being 60 years, 7 months, and 2 days old. Mr. McFarland came to Three Forks from Hancock county, Illinois, during the spring of 1910, where he was soon after joined by his wife and children. In August of 1911, he took up a homestead near Toston, where he was residing at the time of his death. Mr. McFarland became a christian in early life; all who have known him have been impressed upon them the thought, "He loved his fellow men." He is survived by a wife and two children, a son and a daughter, who while mourning his death, are content to trust their loved one to the greater and higher power above. The body was taken back to Illinois where funeral services and burial was held.

Millard McFarland died 17 Dec 1913 age 60.
Anna McFarland died of pneumonia 12 May 1918 in Butte, Silver Bow County aged 61 years, 7 mos, 31 days. Born Henry, Illinois. Daughter of Jacob S. Broden [sic] and Mary Randolph, both natives of New Jersey. Widow of Millard McFarland. Buried at Pontoosuc, Illinois. Informant was Robert McFarland.
Millard and Anna McFarland were buried in Myers Cemetery, Pontoosuc, Hancock County, Illinois.
Children: Robert (Jan 1889), Burris (Nov 1895).
