In the 1918 Montana Death Certificate of Anna McFarland her father is named as Jacob Siple Berdine. In the 1930 Iowa Death Certificate of Jacob Randolph Berdine his father is also named Jacob Siple Berdine. [Assuming here that Seipel was written phonetically as Siple.]

Jacob L. Bodine AND Mary Ann F. Randolph were married 29 Oct 1850.
In 1850, on the occasion of his marriage, his name was recorded as Jacob Bodine.

1900 Rock Creek, Hancock Co., IL: Jacob S. BERDINE March 1829 NJ farmer, Mary F. Jan 1833 NJ wife. Married 49 years, 5 children born/4 living.
1910 Appanoose Twp., Hancock Co., IL: Jacob S. BERDINE 81 NJ retired farmer, Mary A. 77 NJ wife. Married 58 years, 5 children born/4 living.
Mary (Randolph) Berdine was the daughter of Isaac and Julie A. (Holton) Fitz Randolph. The death of Mrs. Jacob S. Berdine was reported in the Fort Madison (Iowa) Weekly of 8 March 1911.
Portrait and Biographical Album of Fulton County (Biographical Publishing Co., Chicago), 1890, p. 328-329 contains a biography of Isaac F. Randolph which includes an account of the family of his daughter, Mary: "Mary A. married Jacob Berdine, a farmer of Hancock County, Ill., and has four children--Randolph, Anna L., Flora, and Charles. Of these Anna L. married Millord McFarland, a blacksmith at Powelton, and has one child, Robert; Flora, who is now Mrs. John Thornbur, resides in Hancock County, and has three children--Grace, Harry, and one unnamed; Charles is married and lives in Nebraska, and has one child."
