Elizabeth HAYS 25 IL dau widow.

In 1900, Elizabeth S. SHEARER, born July 1827 in NJ, widowed, lived in Kansas City, Missouri in the household of her son George.

Mr. James Shearer died at his home in Eldarado [sic] Springs, July 26. He was the oldest brother of the late George Shearer and also of Mrs. Dr. May. He was an old settler, having lived in Lawrence at the time of the raid. He was the father of V. J. Shearer of this city. {Note: V. J. is Vincent J. Shearer who was living 1880 with his parents.]

Mrs. Elizabeth Shearer, mother of police officer G. W. Shearer, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. M. Hayes, at 25 East Thirty-first street. She was 74 years old. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock to-morrow morning. The Rev. Dr. Davidson will conduct the services.
