On 12 Sept 1918 in Wills Point, Van Zandt County, Texas, Charley Culberson Bodine enlisted for the World War I draft. He reported his birth date as 28 Dec 1897, that he was a self-employed farmer and Mealie Bodine of Stone Point in Van Zandt County was his next of kin. In 1920, Charles Bodine lived in Van Zandt County, Texas engaged in farming. In 1930, he lived in Waco, McLennan County.

Mrs. Mealie Bell Bodine, 75, a resident of Hurst and Arlington for many years prior to moving to Hugo, Okla. in 1964 died Tuesday in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today in Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Arlington with the Revs. T. D. Hall and Ed Plaunche officiating. Burial was in Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington, with Williamsburg Funeral Home, Arlington, in charge of arrangements. She was a member of the Clayton Avenue Baptist Church in Hugo, Okla. Survivors include her husband C. C. Bodine; son, John Bodine of Hugo; daughters, Mmes. Frances Martin of Fort Worth and Mary Alice Coats of Arlington; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Charlie C. Bodine, a former Tarrant County resident, school principal and superintendent, died Monday at a Hugo, Okla., hospital. He was 94. Mr. Bodine was a member of Clayton Avenue Baptist Church in Hugo. His wife, Opal Bodine of Hugo, survives, and area survivors include a daughter, Mary Alice Coats of Arlington. Funeral: 9 a.m. Thursday at Clayton Avenue Baptist Church. Burial: 3 p.m. Thursday in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Arrangements: Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo.
