Mary Allene Smith passed away December 23, 2012 at St, Mary's Hospital in Decatur and was received into Heaven. She was born on March, 19, 1919 the daughter of Ralph B. and Fairy N. (Steele) Vail. Mary grew up in Beecher City and the Altamont area. She married Kenneth W. Bodine on December 23, 1937. She later married Robert Smith, both preceded her in death. She spent her years being a mother to her five children and worked 30+ years at Borg Warner. She also worked at war plants during World War II. Later she traveled extensively worldwide. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Thursday, December 27, 2012 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 407 East Eldorado Street, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday December 26, 2012 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home 2091 N Oakland Ave. Entombment will follow in Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery in Decatur. Surviving are her children, James (Venus) Bodine of Decatur, Shirlene (Fred) Knoll of Homewood, IL, Nona Houser of Decatur, Cheryl Reed of Naples, FL and Angela (Alan) Kelley of Dublin, OH. Grandchildren Rick (Justi) Houser, Fred Knoll Jr., Dan (Lauri) Knoll, Michele (Chris) Brownlow, Maria (Jeff) Benner, Tom (Elizabeth) Houser, Father Joe Knoll, Gabe Reed, Aaron (Miranda) Kelley , Nathan (Becky) Kelley and Ben (Mindy)Kelley. Great Grand children Dominick, Kedrick, Raeshel, Austin, Kyler, Sarita, Anna, Michael, Grace, David, Jenny, Jack, Samantha, Reagan, Walker, Crews, Grace and Ryder. Great Great Grandchildren Cannon, Joseph and Samuel. Brother Paul Vail of Windsor, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jim and Jack Vail and sister Naomi Fish, infant son Kenneth W. Bodine, Jr. and grandson Johnny Knoll. The family of Mary A.
