Mittie Modene Phillips, age 66 years, 2 months and 6 days, entered eternal life August 30, 2009 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born June 25, 1943 in Hobart, OK to James Edward and Minnie (Crawford) Sarver. Unselfish and compassionate, Mittie worked many years as a Nurse. She enjoyed reading and fishing, but most of all spending time with family. Mittie was preceded in death by her son Arnold Allen Phillips; and brother Jerry Sarver. She is survived by her loving children: Laura Knight of Oklahoma City, Grady Phillips of Hallett, OK, Deborah McLaughlin of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Gary Roof and his wife Daysha, Michael Roof, Grady Phillips, Jr., Jacob Phillips, Allyson Phillips, Cody Carrigan and Halsley McLaughlin; great-grandchildren: Ryli Roof and Aiden Phillips; and sister Caroline Ives of Purcell, OK. Emmett Eugene "Gene" Bodine, Age 67, passed away on May 1, 2012 in Roseburg, Oregon from cancer. Born in Colgate, Oklahoma to Jim and Ruby Bodine, he was raised in Sutherlin, OR along with his six brothers, Leroy, Ron, Bill, Fletcher, Charles, Ricky and one sister, Margaret Cogdill. His two children, son Michael, and daughter Whitney, along with the Bodine clan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins will miss him greatly. His parents preceded him in death. Gene lived in several cities and towns throughout Oregon. He also lived in other states but always called Oregon home. He loved the wooded hills and mountains around the Roseburg area and found comfort in their beauty. A memorial service with urn placement is planned for next month at Fair Oaks Cemetery in Sutherlin, Oregon on Saturday, June 16 at 2 p.m.
