Lake Preston --- Ivel Ernest Bodine, 82, of Lake Preston and a former resident of the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Kingsbury Memorial Manor in Lake Preston. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the South Dakota Developmental Center Cemetery in Redfield. The Rev. J. Edwin Coates will officiate. Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield is in charge of arrangements. Ivel Ernest Bodine was born Aug. 3, 1918, to Rusty and Ruby (Tone) Bodine in Rapid City. He grew up and lived with his family in Rapid City until 1937, when he entered the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield. He moved to the Kingsbury Memorial Manor in 1997. Survivors include one brother, Esla "Clyde" Bodine of Lakewood, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
