OWEGO---John E. Bodine, 51, of Gaskill Road, R.D. 1, Owego, died Friday, Jan. 24, 1986, at home. He was born May 24, 1924, in Clarks Green, Pa., a son of Marion Cooley Bodine of Nicholson, Pa., and the late William Bodine. Mr. Bodine was an advisory engineer/instructor in information systems at Owego IBM where he had worked 24 years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Owego, a member of its board, a Sunday school superintendent, a choir director and a member of Nazarene District Advisory Board. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Shirley Bodine of Owego; a son, Robin Bodine of Owego; two daughters, Linda Alcorn of Bangor, Maine, and Gail Huna of Bell Air, Md.; two brothers, David Bodine of Allentown, Pa., and William Bodine of Owego; three sisters, Shirley Haas of Allentown, Pa., Charlotte Stokes of Bethlehem, Pa., and Dawn Sickler of Tunkhannock, Pa.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were today at Owego Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Tioga Cemetery in Owego. Memorial donations may be made to Owego Nazarene Church Organ Fund, Waverly Road, Owego, N.Y. 13827. Allen-Manzer Funeral Home of Candor is in charge of arrangements.
