Harold O. Bodine, 49, of 5350 Blue Bush Rd. was dead on arrival yesterday at Mercy Hospital Unit where he was taken after the car he was driving on Sumpter Rd. north of Newburg Rd. in Exeter Township struck a tree. State police of the Flat Rock post reported that Dr. Walter A. Meier, Monroe County health director, ruled a heart attack as the cause of death. State police said the Bodine car was southbound on Sumpter Rd. and went out of control, across the northbound lane and off the east side of the road where it struck a tree. [Portion omitted] Friends may call after 7 tonight in the Liedel Funeral Home, Maybee. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow. Members of the Maybee Post 4361, VFW, and Auxillary will call at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow. Services will be at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home and 10 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Maybee. The Rev. Casimir Wiercioch will officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery. The son of John and Muriel Bodine, he was born April 13, 1924, in Scofield. He married Marjorie Millard Aug 17, 1946, in Bell County, Texas. He was employed in the alignment department of Stan's Collision in Belleville. A veteran of World War II, he was stationed in Europe with the Army. Surviving are his wife; his mother; three sons, Roger of Maybee, Richard of Monroe and Darryl at home; two brothers, John of Maybee and Charles of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Beulah) Sweet of Monroe and Mrs. Joanne Roveta of Carleton, and a granddaughter. His father preceded him in death.
