MAYBEE--Claude D. Bodine, 75, of 2303 Ida-Maybee Rd. died at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ypsilanti State Hospital, where he had been since last Nov. 20. He was a prominent farmer in the area. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Liedel funeral home at Maybee with the Rev. Jacob Turnbull of the Maybee Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in North Side Cemetery at Maybee. He was born July 4, 1879, at Carleton, the son of Charles and Maria Nogar Bodine. When he was quite young the family moved to London Township and he attended Maybee Public School. He married Edith Schassberger Zieske Feb. 8, 1921, with the Rev. Henry Grim performing the ceremony. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Stanley and Raymond at home; a stepson, Ralph Zieske of Monroe; a stepgrandson, Larry Zieske of Mondow; three sisters, Miss Grace and Miss Josephine Bodine, both of Maybee, and Mrs. Rose Kellie of Monroe, and three brothers, Curtis, John and Harry, all of Maybee. His parents, a brother Charles, and a sister, Nettie, preceded him in death.

Mrs. Edith Bodine, 70, of 2303 Ida-Maybee Rd. died at 8:40 a.m. today in Monroe Hospital where she had been for a week. Funeral arrangements are pending in the Liedel Funeral Home at Maybee. Born 6 Jan, 1891, at Maybee, she was the daughter of Phillip and Minnie Schassberger. She received her education at Palmer School at Maybee and was married to Alfred Zieske in 1909. He died in1913. A second marriage was to Claude Bodine in 1924 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Maybee. He died Jan. 29, 1955. Four brothers and two sisters also are dead. Surviving are three sons, Ralph Zieske of Monroe, Stanley Bodine of Carleton and Raymond Bodine of Monroe; two brothers, Fred Schassberger of Monroe and Henry Schassberger of Niagra Falls, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Markwadt of detroit and Mrs. Edward Soltman of Monroe, and six grandchildren.
