William Bodine AND Clara Carr were married 1 March 1876.

In 1880, William Bodine lived in Hahnaman Township, Whiteside County, Illinois engaged in farming. He lived next door to his parents. In 1900, the family lived in Walnut, Bureau County, Illinois where William worked as a day laborer. In 24 years of marriage, William reported that his wife had borne 5 children of whom 4 were then living. In 1930, Clara Bodine, age 72 and now a widow, lived in Walnut, Bureau County with three of her unmarried children. Clara (Carr) Bodine was the daughter of Andrew J. and Helen (Huntley) Carr.

William Gilbert Bodine of Walnut was the eldest of six children born to Mary McNear and Isaac Theodore Bodine. The parents were natives of Morris county, New Jersey. William Gilbert was born at McComb county, Michigan. August 28th, 1850. On March 1st, 1876, he was united in marriage to Clara A. Carr. To this union were born six children, two of whom died infancy. For several years Mr. Bodine farmed. A number of years he worked on the section. During the past seven years his health had not been good. Heath trouble developed and for a few days kept him confined to his bed. Finally he passed away at 9 a. m. Tuesday, January 10, 1928; at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 13 days. He is survived by his devotad companion and four children; Clarence E. of Ohio; Frank E., Florence Luella and Leroy of Walnut, who live at home with their parents. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters; Joseph T. of Peoria, Robert M. of Boise, Idaho, and Jesse W. of Huron, South Dakota, Mrs. Mary Comer of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Mrs. Anna Spangler of Boise, Idaho, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church oti Thursday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. H. D. Dick.
