Robert Bodine was a widower at the time he married Darlene Newcomer in 1958. Robert and June Bodine were divorced and in 1970 June Bodine married Robert's brother James Bodine.

PORTLAND - Robert Vincent Bodine passed away in Portland, Oregon on March 12, 2015. He was born to Henry and Elsie Bodine in Tenino, Wash., on Feb. 2, 1932. In 1935, the family homestead in Rose Valley, Wash. After graduating Kelso High, Bob served in the Army from 1952-54. He loved the outdoors and spent a large part of his life logging. Bob and Virginia Loe met 33 years ago and remained together until his death. They love dancing and traveled to Yuma, Ariz., during the winter months. In 1985 they moved to Ocean Park where Bob started a septic and excavation business. People would come up to him in restaurants wanting a small job completed or a load of rock. He was never too busy to help someone. Even though Bob was a hard worker, he found time to relax by watching the ocean, clam digging and having coffee with friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim and Ben; sisters, Emmy Butler and Else; and a daughter, Angie Bodine. In addition to his wife, survivors include Robert Richmond, Alan Bodine, Michael Bodine, Sheri Getty, Sherylyn and Lonnie Dykstra, Lisa and Mike Miliosvich, Patsy Bodine, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sisters, Ruthie and Amphlis. The extended family consists of Brad and Linda Olsen, Susan Thompson. His big smile and hearty laugh will be missed by all. Bob made a difference in everyone's life. A celebration to honor Bob will be scheduled at a later date on the Peninsula. In lieu of flowers, cards can be sent to Virginia Loe at P.O. Box 783, Ocean Park, WA 98640.
