Fred Jackson of Canton and Carol Bodine, daughter of Mrs. E. L. Lanning of Dover, were married 22 Jan in Dover First Moravian Church by Rev. Michael E. Michel.

Ray S. Kasserman, age 74, of Canton, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 26, 2006 in Puttnam Community Center in Puttnam, FL. He was born in Hannibal. OH, on March 18, 1931, to the late Ernest and Ella Kasserman. Ray was an independent truck driver for over 40 years, and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Teamster's Union Local #92 and the Army/Navy Garrison #207 in Massillon. He enjoyed bluegrass music and loved his dog, Blondie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Kasserman in 1968; an infant daughter, Linda Rae Kasserman; and a brother, George Kasserman. Survivors include his six children, Judy (Guy) Keener, Nancy (John) Shonk, Bonnie and her fiancee, Tony Antonelli, Brenda Rhodes and her fiancee, Tim Taulbee, Sheryl Armstrong, and Ray Kasserman II; a brother, Paul Kasserman; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel, with the Rev. Ronald Howard officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours are on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Carol Bodine Kasserman went home to be with God, on Thursday, June 16, 2022. A daughter of the late Larry and Nora Bodine, Carol worked for Joy Manufacturing Co., Diebold, Inc., and Family Healthcare Services. A member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and High Mill Church of the Resurrection, Carol was a willing and dependable volunteer in their nursing home, soup kitchen and prison ministries. Predeceased by her parents; her son, Ray Steven Kasserman II, and her brother, Bill Bodine; Carol is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Lynn Hayes. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Laura Colvin. No services or calling hours are scheduled at this time. A memorial celebration of Carol's life will take place at a later date. Also at Carol's request, all flowers and memorial contributions are to be sent to her daughter, Sheryl.
