2nd Lt. George C. Bodine, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Bodine of Evanston, Ill. and Miss Dorlis Turner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Turner of Neosho, Mo., were married 7 Nov at an Episcopal ceremony solemnized at St. Peter's procathedral, with Chaplain O. R. Liggett officiating. [Note: Dorlis was the daughter of Samuel and Frances Ruth (Sanders) Turner.]

Dorlis Juanita "Turner" Bodine, died Saturday, May 25, 2002. "Death is like walking naked into the wind and melting into the Sun." Dorlis did so on Saturday at the age of 80. She was born and raised in rural southwestern Missouri near Neosho. A member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, this great and wonderful lady was an inspiration to those who knew her. She is survived by her husband, a son and two daughters. Also, a granddaughter, two great grandchildren and two brothers. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Chattanooga National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

MaryAnn Hauck Bodine, 90, of Chattanooga, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, in a local hospital. She was a native of Samaria, Ind., and was the widow of the late George C. Bodine Jr. She was a wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother; a role model for her family and friends, and was known as a very gracious, loving and classy lady. She was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Virginia Lee, Frances Guerin, Howard Green, and Sally Weglarz. She is survived by a son, Col. John D. (Kris) Hauck Jr., USAF (Ret), Ennis, Mont.; and two daughters, Diana (W. Wright) Johnston, of Ringgold, and Karen Tanner (Kenneth) Boles, of Sale Creek, Tenn.; grandchildren, Patrick (Amanda) Johnston, Brian (Elizabeth) Hauck, Lauren (Stan) Lin, Derek (Angel) Tanner, and Scott (Kara DeRoche) Tanner; and 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. MaryAnn Bodine was a dedicated and beloved volunteer with the CHI Memorial Auxiliary for several years donating 4,559 hours of service at the Intensive Care Unit Information Desk. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for donations to be made to the CHI Memorial Auxiliary Scholarship Fund which benefits CHI Memorial student volunteers and staff who are pursuing an undergraduate college degree in a health care profession. George Charles Bodine Jr., 89, of East Brainerd, died Friday, May 16, 2008, in a local hospital. A resident of Chattanooga since 1965, Mr. Bodine was a graduate of Colorado School of Mines. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the first Special Services force. He retired from Combustion Engineering as a consulting engineer after 20 years of service. Mr. Bodine was active in the Chattanooga Art Community, a member of the Association of Visual Arts and the Watercolor Society. He also volunteered at Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorlis J. Bodine; daughter, Doree Graham; and brother, Robert Bodine. Survivors are his wife, Mary Ann Bodine; daughter, Lynn Graham; son, Michael Bodine; granddaughter, Donia Graham; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Danielle Graham, all of Chattanooga; stepchildren, Diana Johnston, Ringgold, Ga., John D. Hauck, Ennis, Montana and Karen Boles, of Sale Creek. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Pilgrim Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 400 Glenwood Ave., with the Rev. Dr. David Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends at the church from 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday.
