Edna Bodine was age 9 in 1910 and 18 in 1920. In 1920 she worked as a packer in a jewelry factory, seemingly the same business that employed her father. In 1920, aged 26 and single, she lived with her mother in Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana where she worked as an ad receiver for a publishing company.

Carl Herman Schuele, born 21 Nov 1895 in Atchinson, Kansas, son of Franz N. & Mary (Stehemeier) Schuele AND Edna Norman Bodine, born 4 April 1901 in Brooklyn, NY, dau. of George H. & Grace V. (Johnson) Bodine, were married 31 Aug 1930 by Felix Seseczywski. [Note: Their obituaries state they married 30 Aug 1930, but the original marriage record notes they married 31 Aug 1930.]

On 27 April 1942, Carl Herman Schuele of Concord, Indiana registered for the World War II Draft. he reported he was born 21 Nov 1895 in Atchison, Kansas and named Miss Minnie Schuele as his next of kin.

Carl H. Schuele, 243 Chapman Ave., died at 10 a.m. Sunday in his home. He was employed by the Continental Can Co. for the last 11 years. Born Nov. 21, 1895, in Atkinson, Kan., he married Edna Bodine Aug. 30, 1930, in Elkhart, where he had moved in 1924. Surviving are the widow amd a sister. Mrs. Walter Pendergass, of Kansas City, Kan. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Westbrook and Metz Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph A. Hession officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery. Mr. Schuele was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Church, of the Knights of Columbus, of the Holy Name Society and served in World War I.

Edna N. Schuele, 82, of 1400 W. Franklin St., died Tuesday afternoon at Elkhart Healthcare Center, where she had been a patient for several years. She was born April 4, 1901, in Brooklyn, N.Y. As Edna N. Bodine, she married Carl H. Schuele on Aug. 30, 1930, in Elkhart. He died July 5, 1959. There are no known survivors. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Westbrook-Metz-Clouse Funeral Home, where other arrangements are pending. Mrs. Schuele was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
