On 12 Sept 1918 in Auburn, Cayuga County, William Lemuel Edwards registered for the World War 1 draft. He reported he was born 12 Dec 1880, was a self-employed farmer and that Adah B. Edwards of Auburn was his next of kin. In Jan 1920, the family lived in Fleming, Cayuga County engaged in farming. In April 1930, the family lived in Auburn, Cayuga County where William now worked as a house carpenter.

William L. Edwards, well known Auburn carpenter, dropped dead at his home, 29 Cayuga Street, about 8 o'clock this morning from a heart attack. His death came as a shock to his family and friends as he worked as usual yesterday and seemed in good health when he arose today. Mr. Edwards was born in Skaneateles, the son of William R., and Cora Hall Edwards, and spent most of his life in that village. He was a member of tbe First Methodist Episcopal Church and a member of Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church Sunday School. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ada Bodine Edwards; a son, Alvin W Edwards; two daughters, Winifred C, and Esther M, Edwards, all of Auburn; his father, William H. Edwards, Skaneateles; a sister, Mrs. Jay H. Bowker, of Washington, D. C. Prayer service will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon with further services at 2 o'clock at the First Methodist Episcopal Church. Rev. Harold Stearns and Rev. John W. Faust will officiate.

AUBURN---Ill only one day, Mrs. Ada B. Edwards, 29 Cayuga st., widow of William L. Edwards, died yesterday in the City Hospital. She came to Auburn, from Owasco some years ago. Mrs. Edwards is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Seamans and Mrs. Raymond Baker; a son, Alvin W. Edwards, all of Auburn; a, sister, Mrs. Myra Darrow of Auburn; a brother, Irving Bodine of Owasco, and five grandchildren. Services will be at 2:30 P M. Saturday in the Glenn F. Mosher funeral home, with the Rev. Warren G. Odom, First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Skaneatles.
