Mary Nell Bodine applied for a SSN in July 1938 and reported she was born 4 July 1918 in Holcomb, Missouri, dau. of Henry H. & Eva G. (Caldwell) Bodine. In Sept 1953 she reported her name as Mary Nell Harris, in Aug 1964 as Mary Nell Walters, in April 1974 as Mary Nell Harper; also as Mary Nell Phipps and Mary Nell Brown. She died in March 1980.

On 17 Jan 1938 in St. Johns, Apache Co., AZ, Robert Brown married Maggie Ruth Ramsey (1909-1997). Roy and his 2nd wife were buried in R V Mike Ramsay Memorial Cemetery, Snowflake, Navajo Co., AZ.

In 1940, Mary was divorced and living with her parents and her son, Bobby N. Brown, age 4 in Kennett, Dunklin County, Missouri.

2nd husband--1945--WILLIAM GARLAND PHIPPS.

Mrs. Mary Nell Brown, 26, of Kennett, MO AND William G. Phipps, 27, of Kansas City, MO were married 7 April 1945 by Vally P. Wright.

He was 1st married in Jackson Co., MO 11 July 1942 to Minnie Caudle and 3rdly on 2 April 1951, William G. Phipps, 29 married Dorothy Downs, 23, both of Kansas City, MO. Both were living 1954 in Kansas City, KS, but not in 1955. Their son was Walter Garland Phipps (1952-2018).

On 16 Feb 1942, William Garland Phipps registered for the World War II Draft and reported he was born 25 Dec 1921 in Johnson Co., MO and named Willa Phipps as his next of kin.
