Roger 'Ken' Bodine, a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety, died in a plane crash on Mount Taylor, near Grants, New Mexico while enroute to California. Roger was the co-pilot of the Beechcraft Model 58. He was buried in Pearland, in Brazoria County. Roger Kent (Ken) Bodine, 29, born November 4, 1963, went to be with the Lord as a result of a plane crash on March 14, 1993, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ken was a 1982 graduate of New Braunfels High School. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, as well as many other campus organizations. Ken was currently an active member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He was serving on the Safety Committee. Ken was following in his adored father's footsteps and had become a fully rated commercial pilot. His exuberance for life will be remembered by all those whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his father, H.M. (Bud) Bodine. His survivors include his mother, Jeanne Bodine of New Braunfels; fiance, Amy Fisher of San Leon; sister and brother-in-law, Teri and John Hartsell of Pearland; sister and brother-in-law, Jana and Johnny Corbin of New Braunfels; nephews and niece, Keith, Greg and Katie Hartsell and Asa and Cade Gaddy. He will also be lovingly remembered by many, many friends and family members. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of South Memorial Park, Pearland. Services are pending and will be at Pearland First Baptist Church with Masonic graveside services at South Memorial Park Cemetery, Pearland.
