In 1870, Augustus Bodine, age 26, lived and worked in Hopewell Township, Mercer County, New Jersey.
From Mercer County, New Jersey Marriage Records:
Augustus H. Bodine AND Josephine Drake, 25, were married 24 Nov 1887 in Hopewell, Mercer County.
From The Morning Post (Camden, NJ) of Friday, 7 Aug 1896.
As Samuel [sic] Bodine, a carpenter, was crossing the tracks at Pavonia this morning, he was struck by the Buffalo express train, which runs through to Atlantic City, and instantly killed. He had purchased a ticket to Fish House and was crossing over the tracks to take his train when the accident occured.

Augustus Hunt Bodine, aged 50 years, who was accidentally killed on the Pennsylvania railroad last week, was buried this morning from his late residence, at Third and Broad streets, Fairview, Stockton.

"In the matter of the administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Augustus H. Bodine, dec'd, The Petition of Josephine D. Bodine Hopewell, Mercer Co., N.J. respectfully showeth that Augustus H. Bodine of Cramer Hill departed this life intestate by being struck by a Locomotive on the Penna. R. R. in the County of Camden and State of New Jersey on Friday the seventh day of August at 8:30 o'clock A.M., A.D. 1896; That the said Augustus H. Bodine, deceased, left him surviving the following named heirs and next of kin, to wit: Josephine D. Bodine, Widow; Charles B. Bodine (7 years) son; Lucy A. Bodine (4 years) Daughter; William R. Bodine (2 years) son."
Josephine D. Bodine was appointed administratrix of Augustus H. Bodine on 19 Dec 1896 with H. D. Longacre as surety. [Camden County Bonds, G: 452]
In 1900, Josephine Bodine, age 37 and widowed, lived in Pennington Borough, Hopewell Township, Mercer County. She reported she had borne 3 children and all were living with her, as was her father, Zephaniah S. Drake. In 1920-1940, as Josephine Haviland, she lived with her son William Bodine in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Josephine Drake Haviland, of Glen-Loch, Pa., passed away on Saturday, February 7, in the 86th years of her age. She had been ill for the past year. Mrs. Haviland was born in Hopewell, a daughter of the late Zephaniah Stout and Lucy Sexton Drake. She had been a resident of Chester County, Pa., since 1914. She was a member of the Hopewell Old School Baptist Church. She had been married three times, and is survived by three sons, Charles B. Bodine, Long Beach, Cal.; William R. Bodine, of West Chester, Pa., and Joseph L. Heston, of Baltimore, Md. There are five grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.
From the Pennsylvania Death Certificate of JOSEPHINE HAVILAND, widow, of Glen Loch, Pa., born 17 Sept 1862 in New Jersey, died 7 Feb 1948 in Norristown, Montgomery County and was buried in Berlingham, Chester, Pa. Informant was Wm. R. Bodine of West Chester.
