YARDVILLE---Rudolph Kuser Schlegel, 71, died Wednesday in Hamilton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Trenton, Mr. Schlegel had resided in the area nearly all of his life. He was retired after 36 years as general foreman for the Wire Rope Division of John A. Roebling's Sons Co. (CF&I Steel). More recently, he was superintendent of Loos & Co. Wire Rope Mill of Pomfret, Conn. An active sports enthusiast, he was past president of the Mercer County Church Steel Quoit League. He was a 40-year member of the Princeton Lodge No. 38 F&AM, and was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Son of the late John W. Schlegel Sr., grandson of the late Mary Kuser Schlegel and great-grandson of the late Rudolph Kuser, he is survived by his wife, Eleanor Bodine Schlegel; a brother, John W. Schlegel Jr. of Hamilton; and several cousins. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday from the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton. The Rev. Dana W. Livesay, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Philip R. Zink, pastor emeritus, will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the colonial home. Princeton Lodge No. 38 will offer Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Deborah Heart and Lung Research Center, Trenton Road, Browns Mills, N.J. 08015.

HAMILTON---Eleanor Bodine Schlegel, 70, of Yardville Heights died Saturday at St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Trenton, Mrs. Schlegel had resided in the area all of her life. She was a former executive secretary for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, Cities Service Petroleum Company and Princeton University. She was a member of the Golden Nuggets Senior Citizens Group. Daughter of the late Emerson and Louise Britton Bodine and wife of the late Rudolph K. Schlegel, she is survived by a sister, Evelyn M. Nini of East Windsor; a cousin, Rudolph K. Schlegel Jr. of Ewing and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday at noon from the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the colonial home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Deborah Heart and Lung Research Center, Trenton Road, Browns Mills, N.J. 08015.
