The marriage of Emerson Bodine, of Asbury Park, and Miss Nealie Britton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathanial Britton, of Plainsboro, was solemnized Thursday at high noon at the home of the bride. The home was prettily decorated with smilax and flowers. Miss Britton was attired in a decoming gown of white silk. Miss Wanda Britton was the bridesmaid, and Miss Sophie Oakson was a flower girl. John E. Wyckoff and Ray Britton were the ushers. Day, of Newark, served an elaborate wedding breakfast.

On 12 Sept 1918, Emerson Bodine of Trenton, NJ, registered for the World War I Draft and reported he was born 26 May 1877, worked as a ship builder at a shipyard in Bristol, PA. and Louisa Bodine was his next of kin.

From The Trenton Evening Times (Trenton, N.J.) of 18 Feb 1924:
"Emerson Bodine who was brought back from Florida on a charge of deserting his wife, was held in $500 bail when arraigned before Judge Brennan today. Bodine was arrested in Fort Pierce, Fla. He was brought back by Chief of County Detectives Kirkham and Detective Sergeant Heher." On 21 Feb 1924, the Trenton Evening Times reported: "Pleading guilty to a charge of deserting his wife and minor daughter, Emerson Bodine was fined $1 and costs by Judge Marshall in Mercer Court today. The costs will include the expense of extradition from Florida, where Bodine was arrested. He was also ordered to contribute weekly to the support of his family. The amount will not be set by the court until the husband has found work."

No obituary is known to have been published and New Jersey death records for 1942 are unavailable. He may have died at the place he lived in 1940--Ashland, Cherry Hill Township, Camden County.

Mrs. Louisa Britton Bodine, 86, of 220 Highland Avenue, Yardville Heights, died Sunday. She was born in Plainsboro and formerly lived in Trenton. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Earl E. Large of Mercerville and Mrs. R. K. Schlegel, with whom she lived, and Mrs. Joseph C. Nini of Cranbury; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cole Funeral Home in Cranbury with the Rev. Philip K. Zink of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury. Friends may call Tuesday evening.
