In 1900, John Bodine, age 25 and single, was living in Ocean Grove, Neptune Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey employed as a driver.

A quiet wedding was celebrated Sunday morning at the home of Dr. H. C. McBride, 99 Central avenue, Ocean Grove, when Miss Lydia L. Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Palmer of the Spray View, Ocean Grove, became the bride of John W. Bodine, also of Ocean Grove. The ceremony was performed by Dr. McBride, assisted by Rev. W. T. Abbott of Ocean Grove. Upon their return from a short honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. Bodine will reside in Ocean Grove. The groom is the brother of Harry J. Bodine of this city.

On 12 Sept 1918, John Wyckoff Bodine registered for the World War I Draft in Monmouth County as a resident of Asbury Park. He reported he was born 27 July 1874 and worked as a painter for Jacob Doll.

1920: The family appears to have been missed.

1940 Neptune City, Monmouth Co., NJ: John W. BODINE Sr. 65 NJ painter-hotel, Muriel 34 NJ dau secretary-Dr.'s Ofc, John W. Jr. 25 NJ son apprentice-foundry.

Funeral Notice, Asbury Park (NJ) Evening Press of Monday, 11 July 1932.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Neptune City M. E. church over the body of Mrs. Lydia M., wife of John Bodine, who died Wednesday at her home, 53 Laurel avenue. Rev. Howard F. Shipps, pastor of the church, officiated. The service was largely attended and the floral tributes numerous. Interment was made in Glendola cemetery by Funeral Director Fred E. Farry.

John Wyckoff Bodine, 70, of 64 Laurel avenue, Neptune City, died last night at his home after a brief illness. He was a resident of the Shore for the past 50 years. He was a member of the Neptune City Methodist church and the Benjamin H. Hartshorne post 35, Spanish American War Veterans. Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Alfred Gant, with whom he lived; one son, Chief Petty Officer John W. Bodine, Pearl Harbor; one granddaughter, Miss Margaret V. Bodine, Neptune; one brother, Isaac Bodine, Trenton and one sister, Mrs. Ada B. Pyle, Los Angeles, Cal. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Bodine Funeral home, Asbury Park.
