In June 1900, Frederick Bodine, 32 and single, was living with his parents in East Windsor Township, Mercer County employed as a carpenter. Married in 1913, he continued to live in East Windsor Township working as a carpenter. In 1930, Catherine Bodine also reported she worked as a mender at a rug mill. The couple had no children. He was named as surviving the death of his sister, Clara Barton Reese, in the latter's newspaper obituary of 1 Oct 1936. Mary (Preston) Bodine was the daughter of Abraham M. and Mary Louise (Herbert) Preston, residents of Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey in 1900. Mary's sister, Nellie Susan Preston, was the wife of Howard Albert Bodine (1881-1943).

Wednesday evening, April 2, 1913, at the Universalist parsonage, Hightstown, Miss May Preston was united in marriage with Fred Y. Bodine by the Rev. M. G. Folsom.

HIGHTSTOWN, Feb. 13.--Frederick Y. Bodine, long-time resident of Hightstown and a retired carpenter, died at his home on Mercer Street here last night from a heart ailment from which he had been suffering for several years. Mr. Bodine was 68 years of age, the son of the late Hart and Emma Bodine. The funeral services are to be conducted from his home on Mercer Street Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, with the Rev. Walter T. Nickless, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery here under direction of A. S. Cole Son and Company, of Cranbury. Bodine is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Catherine Preston Bodine, and a sister, Mrs. Harry McCue, of Westfield. He was a member of the Hightstown Exempt Firemen's Association and a member of the local council of the Junior Order of American Mechanics.

HIGHTSTOWN--Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Bodine, who died Wednesday evening at Lakeland Hospital, Blackwood, will be held at 11 tomorrow morning at the Heyer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown. A former resident of Hightstown, Mrs. Bodine resided at the Shepherd's Home, Haddonfield, at the time of her death. She was 83. Mrs. Bodine was the widow of Frederick Bodine. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Myrtle I. Mitchell of 1740 S. Broad Street, Trenton. Mrs. Bodine was a member of Lady Conover Lodge Nine, Shepherds of Bethlehem, Hightstown. The Rev. Mr. Frederick Mills, pastor of the Hightstown Methodist Church, will officiate at the regular funeral tomorrow. The Lady Conover Lodge will hold a special service at the funeral home at 8 this evening. Interment will be in Cedal Hill Cemetery, Hightstown. Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening.
