On 6 June 1917, Harry C. Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Trenton, New Jersey. He stated he was born 13 Sept 1893 in Lahaska (Bucks County), Pennsylvania, was unmarried, and supporting his mother and one sister.

Harry Bodine AND Myrtle Brown were married 24 Nov 1920 in Trenton, Mercer County.

In 1930, Harry Bodine, age 37, manager of an A&P store, was living in Princeton Borough, Mercer County with his family. When he registered for the World War II draft in 1942 in Trenton, he gave his birth date as 13 Sept 1892 and noted his wife was Myrtle Bodine and that he last worked for the A&P Company, but was presently unemployed. The Trenton Evening Times of 13 Feb 1950 reported that Harry Bodine, 57, a paralytic for 18 years, and his wife Myrtle, 50, were rescued from a house fire which badly damaged their home on Passaic Street in Trenton.

Harry C. Bodine, 59, husband of Mrs. Myrtle Brown Bodine of 282 Bellevue Avenue, died Friday in Mercer Hospital after a long illness. A former manager for the A & P Food Stores, he was a member of the Shephers of Bethlehem 43 of Princeton. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, George E., Harry C. and Arthur R. of Trenton; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Wittaker of Trenton, Mrs. Elzine Frowley of Bordentown, Mrs. Eleanor Polinsky of Morrisville and Miss Reba Bodine of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Sharp and Mrs. Katherine Puscha of Lambertville; four brothers, Joseph and John of Trenton, Samuel of Lambertville and Lorenzo of Buckingham, Pa., and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Hartmann Funeral Home, 539 Centre Street, with the Rev. David W. Allen of Central Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Colonial Memorial Park. Friends may call tomorrow evening.

HAMILTON--Myrtle A. Bodine, 84, of Norway Avenue, died Friday in Helene Fuld Medical Center after a brief eillness. Born in Turkey (now Adelphia), N.J., Mrs. Bodine was formerly a resident of Bellevue Avenue in Trenton for many years before moving to Hamilton. She was a dressmaker and seamstress for many years with many of the well-known stores in downtown Trenton including Dunham's and Daley's. She was a member of the Cadwalader Park Senior Citizens, the Pocohontas Lodge of the International Order of Redmen, the Women's Christian Temperence Union at Central Baptist Church and a past president of the Star of Bethlehem Lodge. She was one of the earliest members of the Central Baptist Church. Daughter of the late George E. and Bessie Waggoner Brown and wife of the late Harry C. Bodine who died in 1954; she is survived by two sons, George E. Bodine of Ewing and Arthur R. Bodine of Trenton; three daughters, Reba M. Bodine of Whiting, Mrs. Eleanor Polensky of Morrisville and Mrs. Mildred D. Shaudys with whom she resided and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Joseph P. Horan Funeral Home, 432 Hamilton Ave. with the Rev. Albert S. Taylor, pastor of Central Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Colonial Memorial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
