Notes for: David Bodine
From Ronny Bodine:
David Bodine lived in Buckingham Township, Bucks County in 1810 and 1820 and was 87 in 1850, living in Solebury Township and still working as a blacksmith. He was a soldier during the War of 1812 serving in Captain Edward Yerkes's Company in Sept. 1814. In the biographical sketch of his grandson, Cary L. Gordon in J. H. Battle's "History of Bucks County, Pennsylvania," Philadelphia Chicago: A. Warner, 1887, p. 1093, it is written "David Bodine, an early settler of Buckingham and a lime burner by occupation."
Ann (Conard) Bodine was the daughter of John and Martha Conard. The will of John Conard, of Buckingham Township, written 2 Jan 1810 and proved 27 Nov 1810, names Ann Bodine as his daughter and devises to her $12 per year during her life (Bucks Co. Wills, 8: 289). Ann Bodine, age 77, was living with her son Jones Bodine and his family 1860 in Buckingham Township.
