Michael L. Bodine 76, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away in his residence, peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Private family services will be held with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard at Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be given in Mike's memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Louis, MO or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at Calvertmemorial.com. Mike was born November 11, 1949, in Decatur, IL the son of Richard and Dorothy (Ritsch) Bodine. Mike served in the US Army being a two-tour Vietnam War veteran and was awarded a Purple Heart Award. He married Phyllis Ann Conaway on August 15, 1970. Mike retired as the Vice President of Bodine Services and Environmental. He was a member of Teamsters Local #279 and the Laborers Local #159. Mike was a member of the Gays-Windsor Masonic Lodge and the Ansar Shrine. He was also a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court #20. Mike loved his classic cars and enjoyed traveling across the country attending auctions with his dad. Surviving is his wife: Phyllis of Mt. Zion; daughter: Jami Martin (Jamie) of Decatur; brothers: Jack Bodine (Laura) of Decatur and Pat Bodine (Kimm) of Decatur; granddaughters: Kyleigh Williams (Scott) and Mackenzie Riley (Cody) all of Decatur; great grandchildren: Jameson, Norah, Ryder, and Maverick; nieces and nephews: Nik, Kimmie, Jodi, Jake, Jenn, Jennifer and Rodney. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Karen Sue, brothers: Gary and Richard, great-granddaughter: Addilynn and niece: Julie. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Mt. Zion Fire Department.
