GENEVA - Gerald J. Thomas, age 73, of Geneva, Ohio, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at his home. Born Feb. 20, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of John H. and Helen (Graham) Thomas, and was a 36 years resident of Geneva. He married Della M. Bodine on Aug. 7, 1958. A Veteran, he served in the U.S. Army, and was a welder at Aitkens Products in Geneva until he retired. Gerald loved sports, bowling in a league at St. Angelo's, and cards. He attended the Assumption Church in Geneva. Survivors include a son, Michael Thomas of Geneva-on-the-Lake; daughter, Beverly Thomas of Geneva; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Melissa, and Timothy Thomas; great-granddaughter, Quinn Thomas; brother, James of Parma; and sister, Shannon MairoranA of Seven Hills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della in 1995; and a brother, John Thomas. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, at the WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, Ohio, with Fr. Melvin Rusnak of Assumption Church of Geneva, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in N. Kingsville. Calling hours are 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 30, at the Funeral Home.
