Andrew Bodine was living 1910 with his parents in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, employed as a factory worker. On 5 June 1917, John A. Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft in Gary, Indiana. He reported he was born 25 Feb 1892 in Mount Vernon, Illinois, was married and and had a stepchild. That stepchild would be Lucille, born 1912, and living with the family in 1920. John Bodine was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. In 1942, Opal Bodine married George H. Gardner in Jacksonville, Duval County.

John Andrew Bodine AND Opal Bodine [sic] were married 13 Oct 1916.

1930 (10 April) Jacksonville, Duval Co.: John BODINE 36 IL Terminal Conductor, Opal 45 IL wife, John 9 NM son. John was 1st married at 24 and Opal at 14.

1935 Jacksonville, Duval Co.: J. H. BODINE 43 IL, Opal 51 IL wife, John A. 13 NM son.

Funeral services for John A. Bodine, 44, who died Friday in his home at 1346 North Clinton street, will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in the Dawson & Wickoff funeral home. Burial will be in Jacksonville, Fla. Death followed a three years' illness of complications. He was born in Jefferson county, Feb. 25, 1892, and was married to Miss Opal Bagley in Albuquerque, N.M. in 1915. For 12 years he was employed with the Jacksonville terminal railroad as yard conductor in Jacksonville, Fla. He came to Decatur three years ago. Besides his wife he leaves his mother, Mrs. A. J. Bodine, and a son, John, Jr., both of Decatur. He also leaves a step-daughter, Mrs. Roshell Knorr, Decatur. There is one brother, Van B. Bodine, Decatur.

Mrs. Rochelle Knorr, 1436 East Cleveland avenue, and her daughter, Betty, have returned from Jacksonville, Fla., where Mrs. Knorr was called because of her mother's death. Mrs. Opal Bodine died Aug. 21 and was buried in a Jacksonville cemetery.
