Notes for: Rosalie ("Rose") Bodine
From Ronny Bodine:
Rose Bodine was aged 2 when living with her parents 1860 in Lee Center, Lee County, Illinois, but in 1870, when she would have been 12, was not living with her father. She must then be identical with Rose Bodine, aged 12, living with Jacob and Harriet Bodine in North Field, Cook County, Illinois in 1870. Jacob and Harriet Bodine did not have a daughter in the 1860 census. Jacob Bodine (1826-1909), formerly of Richmond County, New York, was a 2nd cousin of Rosalie's father Albert Bodine. James J. E. and Rosalee McGee were living 1880 in Blackhawk Township, Grundy County, Iowa where they engaged in farming. The 1885 Iowa State census shows then living in Amherst Township, Cherokee County. In the 1895 Iowa State census, John McGee is now remarried and still living in Amherst Township. In 1910, John McGee reported he and his wife Frances had been married 17 years and that this was his 2nd marriage. Thus, Rosalie died between the birth of her daughter Florence in April 1890 and her husband's remarriage in 1893.
Children: Earl Leonard (Jan 1880), Alice (Dec 1882), Lillian (June 1883), Howard A. (Dec 1887), Florence (April 1890).
