Mrs. Julia A. Brooks, 82, Sackets Harbor, a resident of that village all her life, died at her home today after a long illness. Death was due to pneumonia. She was born in Sackets Harbor Sept. 7, 1847, a daughter of the late John and Jane French Perrigo. Her mother was born in England and her father in Canada. They were early settlers in the town of Hounsfield. She was a widow of the late James Brooks and had been married previously to Mr. Bodine, who died several years ago. She is survived by one son, William H. Bodine of Hackensack, N.J.; one daughter, Mrs. Maude Boyce of Sackets Harbor, four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Cooper of Sackets Harbor, Mrs. Mary Oltz of Auburn, Mrs. Cynthia Conneybear of Auburn, Mrs. Elizabeth McCarthy of Springfield, Mo., and one brother, John Pereigo, of Utica. Funeral services will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 2, Rev. A. Schrader, rector of the Christ Episcopal church, officiating. Interment will be in Sackets Harbor.
