Robert M. Bodine, 64, of Point Pleasant, died Tuesday at Point Pleasant Hospital. he was executive assistant with the state office of Administrative Law for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was also a colonel in the Army reserve for 37 years, retiring in 1987, and was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Army Commendation, and the Army Achievement Medal. He was a 1947 graduate of Bordentown High School, a 1961 graduate of Rider College, where he received a bachelor of science degree in commerce, and a 1979 graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He was a member of the Reserve Officers Association, the Retired Officers Association, and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1698, Point Pleasant. Mr. Bodine was born in Trenton and lived in the Trenton-Bordentown area before moving to Point Pleasant 31 years ago. Surviving are five cousins, William McDermott, Patricia M. Cowell and Mary Lou Ferry, all of Trenton, Carol Snyder, Willingboro Township, and John P. McDermott, Bloomfield. Hartmann Funeral Home, Bordentown, is in charge of arrangements.
