BENNINGTON - Harold M. "Friday" Bodine, 84, died Sunday at the Vermont Veterans Home. He was born in Greylock, Mass., son of Charles H. and Minnie (Bushnell) Bodine. He attended school in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School in 1935. Mr. Bodine was a World War II Army veteran, serving from 1942 to 1945. He was discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. He worked at Catamount Dyers, and for more than 26 years at BenMont Paper Co. until the time of his retirement. He worked as a school crossing guard for 11 years. Mr. Bodine was a life member of the Bennington Lodge of Elks 567, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1332, American Legion Post 13, Loyal Order of Moose 1233 and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1861. Mr. Bodine was also an avid bowler. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Bodine; and a brother, Charles Bodine. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home. Burial will be held in Southview Cemetery in North Adams, Mass. Friends may call Wednesday from noon until the time of the service at the chapel.
