Notes for: Charles Joseph Bodine

Here are some pictures from Charles Brian Bodine (Charles's grandson). This first was taken when Charles was probably in his early 20's:

Subject: Follow-up to e-mail regarding Decendents of Samuel Bodine of Clementon NJ

Dave - I was finally able to get up with my cousin Barry Bodine. He currently lives in Washington Township his address being 73 Goodwin Parkway Sewell NJ. 08080. He has a total of 3 children, Barry Stone II, a daughter Kristen and a step-daughter Denise. He confirms that Helen Sheridan Bodine died in the early 50's, but he is unable to confirm the exact year. He says she is buried in Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin NJ where my grandfather Charles as well as Barry's father Charles Samuel are buried. I suspect that this is where Samuel is buried as well as the information I had heard was that he was buried in or near Berlin. He also tels me that Ethyl Bodine, as far as he know remained in Brazil. The last contact being in about 1962-63. She had 2 sons that graduated from Princeton some time in the late 50s to 60s. He tells me that after High school she attended Glassboro Normal School where she met her husband.

According to Barry Charles Joseph's brother David moved to Burlington County where either he or his decendents were involved in politics. Charles other brother Harold remained in Laurel Springs. His son Harold was about a bit younger than either of Charles Joseph Bodines children (my father and Charles Samuel) and lived in Laurel Springs as well. I believe this is the Harold Bodine that Ronny Bodine emailed me about who died in August 2001 at age 81. According to Barry they still pronounce the last name as Bo-dine.

From Ronny Bodine:

From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Marriage Records:

He was living 1920 in Philadelphia working as a musician and in 1930 was living in Laurel Springs, Camden County, New Jersey where he worked as a printer for a publishing company. His wife, Helen, was a grocery store proprietor. In 1942, he registered for the World War II draft as a resident of Laurel Springs, New Jersey.
