Bonito Bonnett registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sept 1918 in Trenton, Mercer County. He stated he worked as a machinist for the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Bonnett family was living 1920-1930 in Hamilton Township, Mercer County where Bonito worked as a machinist in a car shop.

Bonito Bonnet, husband of Mrs. Helen V. Bonnet (nee Bodine), of 2791 Nottingham Way, Mercerville, died this morning at his home after a lengthy illness. Retired as a railroader four years ago, he was 56 years old and was a member of Gothic Lodge No. 270, F. and A. M., of Hamilton Square; Three Times Three Chapter, Palestine Commandery and Crescent Temple. He was also a member of the Mercerville Fire Company. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Dr. Laurence Bonnet, of Mercerville, and two brothers, Laurence, of Louisiana, and A. W. Bonnet, of Texas. The funeral will be held from the parlors of W. T. Saul & Sons, 3781 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services by the Rev. Robert Webster of Christ Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Ewing Church Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow evening when members of Gothic Lodge will conduct Masonic services at the funeral home.

MOORESTOWN--Mrs. Helen Virginia Bodine Bonnet, 92, of The Evergreens, retired owner of the Bonnet Florist Shop in Trenton, died Wednesday here. Mrs. Bonnet lived in Trenton most of her life before moving to the Evergreens two years ago. Widow of Bonito Bonnet, she is survived by a son, Dr. W. Laurence Bonnet of Trenton; a brother, Earl Bodine of Gwynedd, Pa.; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday from the Evergreens' Chapel with Canon Edward Daley, officiating. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery, Ewing Township. Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton. Contributions may be made to the Evergreens.
