Notes for: William E. Bodine

Based on a lawsuit that John Martin Bodine filed against a bunch of family members, it looks like this William Bodine was mentioned in that lawsuit. It called him "William E. Bodine and Kate Bodine, his wife." That was in the Auburn Bulletin of Friday, June 4, 1897.

From Ronny Bodine:

In a summons filed with the Cayuga County Supreme Court on 18 March 1897 between John M. Bodine and numerous family members, included amongst them was William E. Bodine and his wife Kate. William Bodine cannot be located, however, as early as 1889, there is a Catharine Bodine living in Owasgo and she appears subsequently as Kate Bodine, with a daughter, Marion, born July 1883. By 1890 she is married to William Calkins who calls Marion his stepdaughter in 1900. The Auburn Argus of 20 Feb 1891 reports a deed, recorded in January, from John M. Bodine to Kate Bodine of 1/4 acre in Owasco for $70. It is presumed here that Kate Bodine is the widow of William E. Bodine and identical with the Kate Bodine, mother of Marion, who married 2ndly, William Calkins. Kate was the adopted daughter of McDonough Selover and Marian E Brinkerhoff.
