The birth of Otella, daughter of Daniel S. and Elizabeth Bodine, in Union Township, Hunterdon County on 13 Jan 1864 was recorded in the birth records of Hunterdon County. Although her name was spelled Otello in the following obituary, it was Otella from the time of her birth through all succeeding censuses.

STOCKTON, June 14.---Miss Otello S. Bodine died at her home in this borough yesterday morning at 6:30, after a long illness from complications. She was 54 years old. The funeral will take place from her late home, Thursday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. F. O. Hathaway, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, will have charge of the service and the Rev. E. S. Guest of the M. E. Church, will assist. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery under direction of Undertaker C. W. Green. She was the daughter of Mrs. Charlotte Bodine and the late Daniel S. Bodine, and has spent most of her life in this place. Her aged mother survives.
