Notes for: Elizabeth L. Bodine
Also marked on the family tombstone is an H. H. Vansyckel (b. 6-23-1833, d. 9-29-1805). The Marriage Index of Hunterdon County by Deats shows a Holloway Vansyckel marrying an Elizabeth Bodine on September 15, 1853. The "H. H. Vansyckel" on this tombstone and the Elizabeth Bodine on the tombstone are probably this couple who married in 1853. I am guessing, but that is probably correct.
I later found the following marriage record in the September 21, 1853 edition of the Hunterdon County Democrat. This would confirm my guess that this Elizabeth Bodine is the one who married H. [Holloway] Vansyckle. Here is the record:
At the house of Peter Bodine, by the Rev. J. G. Williamson, Mr. Holloway Vansyckle, to Miss Elizabeth L., eldest daughter of Peter Bodine, Esq., all of Union Township, Hunterdon Co., N.J.
