In June 1900, he was John W. Bodine, born June 1890 and in April 1910, he was William J. Bodine, age 20, living with his father in Hardeman County, Texas. On 5 June 1917 in El Dorado, Jackson County, Oklahoma, John W. Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft. He reported he was born 2 April 1890 in Warsaw, Ohio, was a self-employed farmer and was married, but his wife was crippled. He also stated he had served in the Ohio Home Guard in 1905.
In April 1930, Bertha was married to her 2nd husband, Floyd E. Livezey, and was living with him and her son William Bodine in Dodge City, Kansas. Floyd and Bertha Livezey had a daughter, Martha Marie, born in 1927.
From State of Missouri Certificate of Death for Jno. Wm. Bodine: married, day laborer, born unknown; son of Jno. W. Bodine Sr. [sic]; died of influenza aged 29 years 18 Nov 1918 in Kansas City, Jackson County; buried Gentry, Arkansas. Informant was Sallie A. Eylar (Eylar Bros., Undertaker, Gentry, Ark.).

The remains of John W. Bodine, a nephew of J. D. and J. W. Bodine, is expected to arrive from Kansas City tonight or in the morning for burial here. The parents of the deceased lived in Quanah, Tex.

DODGE CITY--Bertha Violet Bodine, 82, died Monday at Dodge City Regional Hospital. Born Dec. 30, 1894 in Hodgeman County, she was married to John W. Bodine in Hodgeman County. He died in 1918. She had been a resident here for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Dodge City. Survivors include son: William C. Ft. Wayne, Ind.; daughter: Mrs. Marie Dellinger, La Junta, Colo.; sister: Ruth Chesney, Dodge City; ten grandchildren. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Hulpieu-Swaim Funeral Home Chapel, Dodge City; Rev. Ben B. Hinkson. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
