Notes for: Daughter (possibly Ann) Bodine

This is a theoretical female child based on the census info of 1800 and 1810. Ronny Bodine believes this might be the Ann Bodine who married Israel Ross and then married secondly Thomas Fenner. I see no hard evidence for this other than the fact that Ann's birthday does line up with when this daughter of Cornelius and Margaret Bodine would have been born. See Ronny's notes further down on this Notes page.

The message below may refer to this theoretical female, but that is only a guess right now:

Hi,

Am researching Aly or Alla Bodine born about 1786. She was married to Simeon Ellis, b. in New York. I have foung the following information from:

Source: The Kelloggs in the Old World and New, Timothy Hopkins, 1903 Appendix III , page 1804 20509 Daniel R., son of Jonathan Kellogg b. in Vermont 2 April 1806; m. Anna Ellis, b. 14 Mar, 1812, daughter of Simeon Ellis and Aly Bodine.

She is listed in the 1850 Ferderal Census in Liberty, St. Joseph, Indiana as Alla Ellis, age 64 born in New Jersey
living with Lucinda Ellis age 19 born in Ohio.

I have found a Simeon Ellis in the 1810 Fed. Census in Reading, Steuben, NY and a Cornelius Bodine in the 1820 Fed. Census in Reading, Steuben, NY and wondered if there could be a connection there.

Thanks for any information you might have.

Dave,
Apparently I spoke too soon. It seems my cousin and her family have been searching your site and have been unable to connect our Ann (referrenced below). Have been pouring over possible relatives and cannont connect her either. But as she came from New Brunswick, NJ, I was thinking yesterday, that she was probably connected to Nicholas, but don't really think so now.
The closest connection is "Bodine, Daughter b. 1783" on the index. She was noted as likely being born in NJ.
Below is what we know of Ann Bodine:

I am writing to inquire if any you know of any Bodines who have taken part in the Family Tree Maker Family Finder tests. Since I would not have a Y or MtDNA test to show relationship, my only chance at confirming a Bodine ancestor would be a match in Family Finder.

My 4th great grandmother was Ann Bodine, born near New Brunswick, NJ
20 Oct 1783. I have never been able to connect her to a New Jersey Bodine family. My source for her birth name is some cemetery records here is Cincinnati.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Julie M. Ross

Find A Grave notes this first wife died 18 Aug 1835, but the Spring Grove Cemetery Association notes they have no burial records before 1845 in which year the first burial took place.
