Notes for: Peter F. Bordine
I wonder if this is not the Farmer Bodine mentioned in the 1850 Census of Dover, Lenawee Co., MI. The Census info was sent to me by Karen Weller:
1850 census - Dover, Lenawee, MI - July 20, 1850 (image 21/22)
Cobb, John C. 55 farmer 1600 VT?, wife Louise 48 Canada, daughter Laurie 10 MI school, FARMER BORDINE 49 NJ
Nearby were Christina Marlatt Bordine and some of her children.

Farmer Bordine is not in the 1870 or 1880 Censuses for Lenawee. He must have moved or died by then.
I later received the following message from Dolores Bordine. I'm not sure if the name was actually written as "Peter F. Bodine" or "Peter Farmer Bodine" in the original, but I think the "Farmer" is an assumption. My guess is that the original says "Peter F. Bodine." It would be good to recheck the original to see what exactly it says.

Here is the information regarding Jacob Bodine/Bordine.
Mortgage April 5, 1816 between Nicholas Bodine and wife Sarah to Jacob Bodine of Charleston County New York - 116 acres of land.
Nicholas is instructed to pay/and provide support for Jasper Bodine and Samuel Bodine sons of the said Jacob and also for Dinah Bodine, daughter of said Jacob until the they shall respectively arrived at the age of 21; and shall also give to each one a good English education .... and shall also give to the Said Jasper, Samuel and Dinah to each one of them two hundred dollars when they arrive at the age of 21. and shall also give to Mariah Bodine two hundred dollars within two years from the first day of May next, the first payment to be made to the said Jacob Bodine on the first day of May, 1817.
Comment:
Samuel was born in 1809, his age would have been 6/7 years of age. Jasper born in 1804 was 16 at the time of this mortgage.
This was cancelled October 31, 1817 11-page 230 which states the mortgage was paid off.
The names were specifically spelled Jacob Bordine and Nicholas Bordine.
Mortage: October 11, 1817 between Samuel Norton and his wife, Lambert Norton and his wife and Jacob Bodine, Nickolas Bodine, Peter Farmer Bodine, Mariah Bodine, Jasper Bodine, Dinah Bodine and Samuel Bodine for the sum of the payment of two thousantd 91 for land.... This land is the same land described in the mortgage of 1816. It does mention that $25 a year was to be paid to Jacob's wife ( no name mentioned) if she outlived Jacob or until she remarried.
Book 16 page 539 This land was sold at auction recorded 8/18/1826 specifically mentioning Nickolas Bordine as the owner of said land.
Karen has researched the Bordine/Berdines in New Jersey and found proof of the baptism for three of the children mentioned in the mortgage/will of Jacob Bodine/Bordine.
Interesting to note: in Friesland historical records there was a Bordine Sea which later was filled in. But the name goes back to 10/11 century.
