Notes for: William Lewis BoDine

From Ronny Bodine:

Obituary, Hawarden Independent (Hawarden, Iowa) of 8 May 1902.
Willie Bodine, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. L. Bodine, died Monday after an illness lasting for several weeks during which time a complication of diseases superinduced heart failure, and following
a very severe attack he died in his mother's arms without a struggle. Tho funeral services were held at the home at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Benedict conducting the services. Mr. and Mrs. Bodine and Mr. Bodine's mother left for Batavia, III., on the 4:20 Northwestern passenger with the remains, where they were tenderly laid to rest in the family burying ground in the Batavia cemetery. The floral tributes were exceptionally fine. A touching part of the funeral service was the assembly of all of the children from his room at school and they stood on either side of the walk as the little casket was carried between them from the home to the hearse. The children marched to the train as a tribute to the memory of their schoolmate and friend. William Lewis Bodine was born in Batavia, Ill. Sept. 15, 1896, and was 5 years, 8 months and 15 days old at the time of his death. The sorrowing parents have the sincere sympathy of all in their deep bereavement.

William BoDine was buried in West Batavia Cemetery, Kane County, Illinois.
