Subject: Re: Medina, NY questions

Hi Dave, Medina is in Orleans county in western New York. It is half way (When I was there, it was called a bedroom community, because everybody worked either in Rochester or Buffulo) between Buffalo and Rochester on the Erie Canal. Shelby is a town in Orleans County of which the village of Medina is half in the town of Shelby and half in the Town of Ridgeway. There is also a little hamlet called Shelby Center. This is about 2 to 3 miles south of the village of Medina. Oakfield, New York is about 12 miles southeast of Medina. Easton, PA is where Jennie Bodine DeWitt lived with her husband Ezra. Jennie was a sister to Catherine my great grandmother. The path seemed to go from Clinton in Hunterdon Co., NJ to Easton, PA to western New York where several other Bodines settled. Easton, PA isn't too far from Hunterdon Co., NJ. I think it's near the PA, NJ border.
