Notes for: Lucille Bodine

Lucille Bodine was stillborn at 7 months and was buried in Reed Cemetery, Meigs County. If once marked, the gravesite is no longer identified. Why her parents gave her a name already borne by an elder living child remains a mystery. Until 1979, her existance was not even known to the family. Her State of Tennessee Certificate of Birth shows she was the 3rd child of her parents. Her State of Tennessee Certificate of Death names Rebecca Leffew, M.D. as the attending physician, with John Bodine, her grandfather, undertaking the burial. It is also a mystery as to why this child was not buried in Hornsby Chapel Cemetery with so many others of the family.
