Death Notice, The Otsego (NY) Farmer of Friday, 29 Nov 1912.
David Budine, farm laborer, aged fifty-six years and well-known about Wellsbridge and Unadilla, while walking along the Delaware and Hudson tracks, about one and one-half miles south of Wellsbridge, toward the latter place, Sunday morning, stepped from the south-bound track upon which a freight train was approaching, onto the north-bound main and failing to observe the rear approach of the north-bound milk, was struck by that train while it was moving rapidly and was thrown some distance. He was breathing when the train stopped, but was unconscious and apparently fatally injured. The injured man was placed aboard the train and taken to Oneonta, but he expired before reaching the station. He was unmarried.
