Elizabeth was aged 17 in 1850, 21 in 1855, 26 in 1860 and 37 in 1870 which seems to establish her birth date in 1833.
John S. Booth, age 31, a native of Tompkins Co., NY, enlisted 4 Jan 1864 in Hamden as a Private in Company C, 144th Infantry Regt. He was mustered out with his company on 25 June 1865 at Hilton Head, SC. [Note: Stephen Budine and John Booth served in the same company and were mustered out together.]
John Booth first married Cynthia Budine, then her sister Elizabeth, and following her death he married 3rdly Annie D. Britton, a widow with 3 children, Aaron, Roy and Mahalah.
