Samuel W. Bordine, 71, son of Samuel Bordine, died 5 Jan 1916 in Tecumseh, Lenawee County.

Tecumseh, Jan. 5.---S. W. Bordine, a well known resident of tecumseh, and a former business man here, died last night at 1:30 at his home on Pottawatamie street. Although he had been in failing health for some time, his death came suddenly. Yesterday afternoon he had been down town. Mr. Bordine spent an active business life and was proprietor of hotels in Eaton Rapids early in his career. Afterward he became purchasing agent for J. M. Ward & Son of Battle Creek. In 1876 he came to Tecumseh and took a position in the D. L. Whitenack store. Later he purchased an interest in this firm, being interested with the firm until 12 years ago. He leaves a widow, one brother and one sister, Henry Bordine of Marshall, and Mrs. Oscar Freidburg of Battle Creek. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the home. Burial at Brookside. Rev. Mr. Rex will officiate. The deceased was born July 4, 1844. Last September Mr. and Mrs. Bordine celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
