Obituary, The Lyndon (KS) Record of Thur., 7 Nov 1895.
Died. At her residence in Lyndon, November 4th, 1895, Mrs. A. A. Fleming, aged 47 years and 19 days. Alvina A. Bodine was born October 16th, 1847, in Dearborn county, Ind. She was married to Robert S. Fleming, December 23d, 1869. They came to Kansas several years ago, and Mr. Fleming died here July 29, 1889. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Presbyterian church, and lived a consistent christian life; to know her was to love her, and her kindly deeds were many. Her life and character was one to be admired. She has gone to join her husband in the home where parting comes no more. And while we mourn her loss to ourselves, we rejoice to know she is at rest from earthly labors and enjoying the bliss and happiness of the reunion over there. A son and daughter survive her, and we join with the entire community in extending sympathy. Rev. Houston conducted the funeral services, a short service at the house and public service at the church.
Burials in Lyndon Cemetery, Lyndon, Osage County, Kansas.
